Christmas Roll

Are you looking for a Christmas dessert for a big family reunion? This roll is the perfect solution to make everyone happy, adults and kids.

We prepared it during our last personal chef service. We made 3 rolls, one filled with strawberries jam, one with Nutella and mascarpone cheese and one with chestnuts cream and mascarpone.

Here is the recipe to make one roll (20 slices)

5 eggs
50 gr flour
70 gr sugar
70 gr vegetable oil (sunflower)
2 teaspoons of backing powder 250 gr mascarpone cheese
200 gr Nutella / chestnuts cream

Break the eggs and divide the yolks from the white.
Beat the white with an electric mixer until fluffy and firm. Set aside.
Beat the yolks together with the sugar. Add the vegetable oil, the flour and the backing powder.
Add the eggs white to the yolks mixture very gently.
Take a backing pan 30×40 cm and cover it with baking paper. Spread the mixture uniformly. Bake at 180 degrees for about 15-20 min.
Take it out from the oven, turn the cake upside down on a flat surface and take the baking paper away.
Wait 5 min to allow the cake to cool down, and in the meantime mix in a bowl the mascarpone with Nutella or chestnuts cream. Spread it in the cake and carefully roll it. Cover with a kitchen film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 min.

Cut the roll in slices and serve.

Enjoy it with your big family
