Apple Loaf Cake 

Do you know how the Italians call this delicious Loaf Cake? Well, we call it Plumcake! Yes, even if no plums are involved in this recipe. Probably the main misunderstanding is related to the pronunciation of the English word “Pound”. In fact, the most similar British recipe to the Italian Plumcake is actually the Pound Cake! 
Plumcake or loaf cake, this cake is moist with the perfect taste of apples and cinnamon. 
In Italy these simple, tasty and quick cakes are perfect for breakfast or offered with coffee when friends are visiting. 

INGREDIENTS

3 eggs 
150 gr sugar 
130 gr butter 
250 gr yogurt 
250 gr flour 
Cinnamon 
3 apples 
30 gr pine nuts 
1 lemon (only the skin) 
1 bag of baking powder

METHOD

Beat the eggs with the sugar, then add the butter and the yogurt. Gently add the four and the baking powder. Peel 2 apple and cut them in small pieces, add them to the dough together with the pine nuts, the cinnamon and the lemon zest. Place the compost in a loaf pan and decor with the apple slices. Sprinkle with sugar and bake at 180 degrees for about 45/50 min.
