Today we start our weekend with the perfect recipe for your next homemade “aperitivo”. Cristina shares with us a classic Tuscan finger food recipe: fried artichokes. They are traditionally served as an appetiser or a snack. Once fried, the artichokes have a light, crisp, golden brown crust…delicious!
INGREDIENTS
6-8 small artichokes
1/2 lemon
1 egg
150 gr flour
200 ml cold sparkling water
Salt
Pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
METHOD
Clean the artichokes and place them into a bowl with the juice of half a lemon.
Drain the artichokes and dry them with paper towels.
In a bowl break the egg, add salt and pepper and start adding the flour and water a little at a time. Dip the artichokes in this mixture and then fry them in the heated oil, until golden brown.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the artichokes from the oil and place on a plate covered in paper towels to drain.
Serve immediately, seasoned with more salt.
Accompany the fried artichokes with a glass of white wine or prosecco. Happy aperitivo, guys!
